Juniper Buying Kagoor
Juniper
(JNPR) - Get Report
agreed Tuesday to buy closely held Kagoor Networks for $67.5 million in cash.
Juniper said the move would help it bring secure networking to customers through so-called rich traffic processing. The company cited Kagoor's session border control technology, which Juniper said "delivers a powerful solution for network operators looking to cost-effectively deploy quality voice-over-Internet protocol (VoIP) and other rich media services."
Kagoor generated less than $5 million in revenue in 2004. Juniper's revenue last year was $1.34 billion.
Juniper expects to close the deal in the second quarter. It expects the acquisition to dilute earnings by less than a penny a share this year and to add to earnings next year.
On Tuesday, Juniper rose 39 cents to $21.61.
