Google rose in pre-market trading on new product announcements, while Netflix fell after its CFO departed.

unveiled its updated Chrome operating system

. On Monday, Google exec Andy Rubin also showed off an unreleased prototype of an Android-powered Motorola tablet that will feature a 3-D version of Google Maps.

Apple's

iPad 2 will be released in April in the U.S., a year after the original iPad went on sale, according to a Taiwanese paper.

Shares of Apple were up 0.58% to $320.04 in pre-market trading Wednesday.

Amazon

(AMZN) - Get Report

launched Kindle for the Web on Tuesday, a service that lets users read Kindle books, with no Kindle device required. Amazon's announcement comes a day after Google debuted its eBooks Store, a similar service.

Shares of Amazon were up 0.28% to $177.26 in pre-market trading Wednesday.

Netflix

(NFLX) - Get Report

fell 2.0% to $186.01 as Chief Financial Officer Brian McCarthy

announced Tuesday he was stepping down from the company

. McCarthy had been CFO since 1999 and led Netflix's IPO in 2004.

Waze

, a mobile GPS navigation application, has received $25 million in venture funding from existing investors Blue Run Ventures, Magma Venture Partners and Vertex Venture Capital. Based in Silicon Valley and Tel Aviv, the company's device provides turn-by-turn navigation based on the live conditions of the road, including traffic. Waze is available for the iPhone, Android, and some Windows and Symbian devices.
