Staying healthy on the road isn't easy. While traveling, I usually slam 50mg of zinc, wear a mask and slather myself in Purell on the planes. But when I'm home, I try to increase my immunity with fresh juice and smoothies prior to my trips.

What I like about this small, personal blender is that it's easy to load, use and clean.Because you are using glass containers (mason jars) instead of plastic, you don't get thatoff-gassing that occurs with some plastics.

I've created all kinds of smoothies with this blender. Banana, flax seeds, yogurtand a spoonful of peanut butter make one of the most compact and nutritious breakfasts. The motor is powerful enough for most frozen fruits. Note: Ice cubes did not do as wellin this blender, but if you add cold water and/or fruit juice along with the frozen fruitit will blend just fine.

If you travel to rough terrain or if you plan on visiting rough terrain, this new sleeping bag might be for you. Check out the photo and you'll see that this is no ordinary sleeping bag. This one actually goes with you, so in case you're confronted by bearsin the middle of the night, you won't have to leave the cozy, comfort of your tent when you attempt a quick get-away.

The green model shown is currently out-of-stock but you can get on their mailing list when more arrive.

On the Web site there is a long explanation on why these bags are called "selk."Selk Bag = Sleeping Bag + Selk'nam. The Selk'nam were nomads who lived in Chilean's Austral Extreme, also known as Land of Smokes and finally as Tierra del Fuego (Land of Fire), due to the numerous bonfires the natives lit at night and which conquerors could see from open seas."

I don't know about the history of the name on this bag but I do know that having a sleeping bag that can also be worn is an idea whose time has come.
