Dell Chases Compellent: Morning Tech Bytes

Dell rose in pre-market trading, while Compellent tanked as investors reacted its bid price.

rose 0.8% to $13.79 in pre-market trading Thursday, as the PC-maker announced that it was in acquisition discussions with data storage company

Compellent Technologies

(CML)

. Under the terms of the agreement, Dell would acquire Compellent for $27.50 per share.

Shares of Compellent dropped over 15.5% in pre-market trading to $28.44.

Netflix

announced

that it had signed a deal with Disney (DIS) - Get Report for online video streaming

of ABC, Disney Channel and ABC Family television episodes.

Shares of Netflix rose 1.5% to $191.00 in pre-market trading.

Google

executive Marissa Mayer hinted at the European Internet conference LeWeb that the search giant still might acquire daily deals company

. Mayer said that the larger a company is, the more complicated the deal is to accomplish. Earlier reports had speculated that the transaction initially fell through because of anti-trust concerns.
