Apple's iTunes to Offer HBO Shows

Apple

is bringing the acclaimed shows to iTunes through a partnership with HBO.
Apple said Tuesday that its iTunes Store will sell programming from HBO, the programming subsidiary of
Time Warner
(TWX)
.
Other HBO programs available on iTunes include
Sex and the City
,
Deadwood
,
Rome
and
Flight of the Conchords
.
The agreement between HBO and Apple marks a shift in how Apple has traditionally priced content on iTunes. Instead of a fixed price, Apple is offering a two-tier pricing structure, a move it has resisted in the past.

and
Flight of the Conchords
are priced at $1.99 a episode, while
The Sopranos
,
Deadwood
and
Rome
shows are priced at $2.99 a episode. iTunes customers can also choose to purchase entire seasons of the programs.
Shares of Apple were up $1.77, or 0.9%, to $189.96. Apple's stock Apple's stock has shed about 3.5% this year, while the Nasdaq composite index fell about 5 % during the same period.
