Apple Prepping Three iPad 2's: Report
SAN FRANCISCO (TheStreet) -- Another day, another round of speculation about one of Apple's (AAPL) - Get Report upcoming products.
On Tuesday,
DigiTimes
reported that Apple is preparing three versions of its upcoming iPad 2, some of which will be Wi-Fi or CDMA-equipped, offering customers "more" wireless solutions than what's available with the current iPad iteration.

This concurs with
that the new iPad will work on both GSM and CDMA networks via
Qualcomm
(QCOM) - Get Report
chips.
Supply partners cited in the story also said they expect Apple to ship more than a half million iPad 2 units in January, the same month that mass production should start.
In addition to beefing up the wireless capability, Apple is supposedly working on the tablet's screen, making it less reflective -- like
Amazon's
(AMZN) - Get Report
Kindle's screen, said the report -- and less vulnerable to smudging.
Apple's iPad, the tablet market leader, took 2010 -- and tech --
. The company shipped around 8 million iPads through the fall; analysts expect Apple to ship from 14 million to 16 million iPads by the end of the year.
Shipments of the iPad 2 could reach 40 million units in 2011, said
DigiTimes
, accounting for 65% to 75% of the global tablet PC market.
On Monday, a
DigiTimes
report said that
Apple upped the global shipment order of new iPhones
from 19 million to 20-21 million.
Shares of Apple were up $1.11 at $325.79 Tuesday morning.
