TIAA-CREF Names New Leadership
TIAA-CREF named successors to the retiring Herbert Allison, saying Roger Ferguson will be the new president and CEO, while Ronald Thompson will take over as chairman of the board.
The changes
become effective April 14.
Ferguson, 57, comes to TIAA-CREF from
Swiss Re
, where he was head of financial services, a member of the executive committee and chairman of Swiss Re America Holding Corp. Prior to Swiss Re, he served as vice chairman of the
Federal Reserve Board
.
Thompson, also 57, has been on the TIAA board since 1995 and currently serves as its presiding trustee.
Allison, who is 64, has led TIAA-CREF since 2002. He joined the company after a 28-year career at
Merrill Lynch

TIAA-CREF is one of the nation's biggest providers of retirement services in the academic, research, medical and cultural fields, with $435 billion in assets under management.
