said it lost $865 million, or 29 cents a share, compared with a loss of $594 million, or 21 cents, in the year-ago period. Excluding a tax charge, the company actually lost 17 cents a share, in-line with analysts' estimates.
Still, its subscriber loss slowed, as it shed 75,000 users versus 182,000 last year.
"Portugal debt" is a trending topic today after Standard & Poor's lowered the country's bonds two notches. The move is fueling fears that Greece's debt crisis (also a trending topic) is spreading to other European nations.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel is also a popular search, as she will meet with the heads of the International Monetary Fund, European Central Bank and other financial institutions to discuss Greece's debt crisis. She is scheduled to make a statement around 10:45 EST.
The Hellenic Capital Market Commission banned short-selling of shares listed on the Athens Stock Exchange due to the ongoing debt crisis. As a result, the term "short selling" is also being searched for on Google.
The oil spill off the Gulf of Mexico continues to be an online concern, after the explosion of oil rig Deepwater Horizon last week. The rig was owned by

. The sunken rig has been expelling oil at a rate of 1,000 barrels a day and 11 workers remain missing.
The oil could hit the shore of the Gulf Coast by this weekend.
BP said on Wednesday that it is cooperating with U.S. investigations and launched its own investigation of the explosion last week.
