Monsanto: Tomorrow's Headliners

Monsanto

is among a handful of companies set to report earnings Wednesday, although traders will also keep an eye on the latest bond auction.
is expected to post a second-quarter profit of $1.73 a share on $3.93 billion, according to a poll of analysts by Thomson Reuters.
In addition to Monsanto,
Family Dollar
(FDO)
will open the books on its last quarter before the start of trading Wednesday.
After the closing bell,
Bed Bath & Beyond
(BBBY) - Get Report
,
Schnitzer Steel
(SCHN) - Get Report
and
Ruby Tuesday
(RT)
will report quarterly results.
Away from earnings, investors will watch for the February read on consumer credit from the
Federal Reserve
, due at 3 p.m. EDT, along with weekly crude inventories from the Energy Department and the weekly mortgage application and rate data from the Mortgage Bankers Association.
The bond market will also be in focus, with a $21 billion auction of 10-year notes set to take place. On Tuesday, the 10-year Treasury rose above the 4% level, the highest in 18 months, before retreating to 3.95%. The auction of reopened 10-year notes is the sixth of seven auctions scheduled this week.
