NEW YORK (TheStreet) --BMO Capital raised its price target on Monster Beverage Corp. (MNST) - Get Report to $150 from $140 on Tuesday morning, and raised its 2015 earnings per share estimates to $3.27 from $3.25 and upped its full year 2016 estimates to $3.76 per share, from $3.70 per share.

The firm said it adjusted its numbers on the alternative beverage maker as it believes regulatory risks have diminished. BMO maintained its "outperform" rating on the stock.

"We revisited regulatory issues for the energy drinks category, including MNST, in light of a recently published scientific report on caffeine intake from food and beverages in U.S. by the 2015 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee," the firm said in an analyst note.

"Mounting scientific evidence of the safety of energy drinks consumption within moderate limits (i.e., 400 mg/day of caffeine or 2.5 Monster 16 oz. cans per day) coupled with MNST's voluntary labeling/marketing changes largely remove the risk of a material growth deceleration in US from an adverse regulatory action," BMO added.

Monster Beverage closed at $137.94 on Monday afternoon.
