British Officials Want Another Look at Fox's Sky Bid
Rupert Murdoch is looking to purchase the 61% of Sky that he doesn't already own.
Britain is asking regulatory officials to take another look at Twenty-First Century Fox Corp.'s (FOXA) - Get Report bid to purchase the remaining 61% stake of satellite broadcaster Sky that it does not already own.
Britain's culture ministry said that it has written to the regulator Ofcom seeking new advice on the transaction. Ofcom has previously expressed concerns that the merger will give the Rupert Murdoch family too much power over British media.
In addition to Fox, Murdoch owns British newspapers The Sun and The Times plus his current stake in Sky.
Twenty-First Century Fox shares were down 0.78% to $27.98 Tuesday afternoon.
