GoPro (GPRO) Stock Gains After GoPro Channel Download Milestone Announcement
NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Shares of GoPro (GPRO) - Get Report were gaining 3.2% to $40.64 Tuesday after the action camera maker announced its GoPro Channel app has been downloaded 1 million times on Microsoft's (MSFT) - Get Report Xbox consoles.
The GoPro Channel app is available on both the Xbox One and previous-generation Xbox 360. The channel lets users watch and share GoPro videos as well as purchase cameras and accessories through their video game consoles.
GoPro also said that users watch an average of 25 minutes of GoPro videos during each viewing session.
"One million downloads and 25-minute sessions are important milestones, demonstrating that people are viewing the GoPro Channel much the way they watch TV. GoPro's content resonates emotionally and globally," GoPro Senior Vice President of Media Zander Lurie said in a statement.
