NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Shares of General Electric (GE) - Get Report are up 0.68% to $32.42 on Monday morning after the company said its Predix industrial operating system will be available on Microsoft's (MSFT) Azure cloud.

GE's Predix platform is already available on Amazon.com's (AMZN) and Oracle's (ORCL) clouds.

But the Microsoft deal does not entice customers away from the other companies' clouds, according to CNBC.com.

However, Microsoft hopes that GE's Predix will convince its loyal industrial customers to adopt Azure.

Microsoft said it will will integrate Predix with its business applications including Office 365, Dynamics 365 and Power BI.

"GE is helping its customers extract value from the vast quantities of data coming out of those machines and is building an ecosystem of industry-leading partners like Microsoft that will allow the Industrial Internet to thrive on a global scale," GE CEO Jeff Immelt stated.

Shares of Microsoft are advancing 0.57% to $52.60 this morning.
