Fiat Chrysler (FCAU) Stock Falls in After-Hours Trading on Vehicle Recall

Fiat Chrysler (FCAU) will be recalling nearly 410,000 vehicles worldwide for a propulsion defect.

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Shares of Fiat Chrysler (FCAU) - Get Report  are dropping 0.15% to $6.86 in after-hours trade after the company announced it would be recalling 410,000 vehicles worldwide for a defect that could cause a loss of propulsion, according to Reuters.

The London-based automaker says it will update software and replace wire harnesses to address the electronic problem.

Models being recalled include the 2015 Chrysler 200 midsize sedan, the 2015 Jeep Renegade and Cherokee SUV, and some 2014 Cherokees.

About 323,000 of the vehicles affected are in the U.S.

Separately, TheStreet Ratings rated this stock as a "hold" with a ratings score of C.

The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its increase in net income, revenue growth and solid stock price performance. However, as a counter to these strengths, TheStreet Ratings finds weaknesses including weak operating cash flow, disappointing return on equity and poor profit margins.
