Elon Musk's SpaceX Takes 'Amazing' Strides, CNBC's Sorkin Says

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Tesla Motors (TSLA) - Get Report CEO Elon Musk's aerospace manufacturer Space Exploration Technologies "SpaceX" successfully launched "critical cargo, including a docking port" to the International Space Station this morning, CNBC's Andrew Ross Sorkin reported on "Squawk Box" Monday.
"This is going to be allowing commercial space ships to start ferrying astronauts to the station," Sorkin explained.
In addition, SpaceX landed its Falcon 9 booster rocket back at the Cape Canaveral launch site in Florida, he continued, calling the step "amazing."
SpaceX works to design reusable rockets, which will slash launch costs significantly, according to Sorkin.
Musk founded SpaceX in 2002 with the goal of reducing space transportation costs and transforming space exploration.
