Asia Shares End Mixed; Europe Falls

Shares in Asia ended mixed Tuesday as traders awaited key data releases while European stocks were lower.

NEW YORK (

) -- Shares in Asia ended mixed Tuesday as traders awaited key data releases while European stocks were slightly lower.

In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 stock average declined 0.2% to 10,567.65 ahead of the release Wednesday of trade data from China and Japanese machinery orders. Shares of

Toyota

(TM) - Get Report

fell 0.6%.

Stocks in Hong Kong rose 0.05% and Shanghai's benchmark index gained 0.5%.

Stocks in London fell 0.7%, and shares in Frankfurt and Paris both fell 0.5%.

Premarket futures suggested stocks would open lower on Wall Street Tuesday, the one-year anniversary of the market hitting 12-year lows.

In New York Monday, the

Dow Jones Industrial Average

fell about 14 points, or 0.1%, to end at 10,552.52. The

S&P 500

fell 0.02% and

Nasdaq

rose 0.25%.
