Asia Markets, Stock Futures Up

Asia markets and U.S. stock futures were both up.

Asian markets and U.S. stock futures were both up in early Friday trading.

Japan's Nikkei 225 rose 47.94 points, or 0.24%, to 19,694.18. In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng rose 107.28 points, or 0.38%, to 28,077.58. Stocks were 0.37% higher in Singapore at 3,277.26.

In U.S. stock futures overnight, Dow futures were up 26 points, or 0.12%, at 21,976. Nasdaq and S&P futures were also up, 0.14% and 0.07% respectively, at 5,999.00 and 2,471.75.

Gold futures were up $2.20, or 0.17%, to $1,324.40, while oil futures were the one dark spot, down 0.49%, to 47.00 as Hurricane Harvey's devastation begins to be assessed.

On Wall Street Friday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 55.67 points, to close 0.25% higher, at 21,948.10. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq also rose, 0.57% and 0.95%, respectively, to close at 2,471.65 and 6,428.66.
