What are your thoughts on Wendy's ? We all know that it lags Burger King and McDonald's due to Arby's and their lack of international exposure. However, their earnings seem to be improving, they're absorbing the Arby's merger, they talks about a turnaround at Arby's, a breakfast menu at Wendy's and the opening of restaurants globally. Rumors swirled last week about a possible consolidation with CKE Restaurants .I have owned the stock for over a year and have accumulated on dips. The chart tells me that $4 is a bottom, and $5 seems to be a ceiling. I have to believe that as the economy and job/labor markets improve, so will restaurants. When a company buys back its own stock do the shares just disappear? I mean, are the shares outstanding reduced, or is it just the float? In other words, are there actually fewer shares than before, or is there just a short-term spike in demand? Click here to read responses to this question or to respond yourself.
