Wal-Mart Sees March Sales Rising Around 4%
The retail giant expects same-store sales growth to match if not exceed February's rate.
Wal-Mart (WMT) - Get Report said Saturday that its U.S. same-store sales for March are on pace for growth of 4.1% over last year.
The Bentonville, Ark., retail chain reported that sales of food were faring better than those of merchandise. The best region was the west, and the company said bad weather affected sales in the east and southeast.
Earlier this week, Wal-Mart announced
a 15% increase in its dividend payment, along with word that same-store sales for February rose 4.1%.
