Uber's Graves Stepping Down From Leadership Role
Ryan Graves, one of Uber's first employees and most recently the downtrodden ride hailing service's SVP of global operations, is stepping down from his position to focus on his role on Uber's board of directors, CNBC reported.
Graves has worked at Uber for over seven years in several positions, including GM and CEO for a time. He announced his departure in an email sent to the company.
Graves was one of former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick's biggest supporters. In his Thursday resignation, Graves said he has "deep gratitude for the lessons learned from Travis."
Graves added that it's "really important" to him that his decision to step down from his leadership role doesn't "take away from the onboarding process of our new CEO, whoever they might be."
In the closing paragraph of Graves' email, he addressed recent crises Uber has faced. "We should have taken more time to reflect on our mistakes and make changes together," Graves wrote.
