Twitter Appoints Former Google CFO to Board of Directors
Twitter (TWTR) - Get Report announced on Wednesday that it has appointed long time Alphabet (GOOGL) - Get Report executive Patrick Pichette to its board of directors as a new independent director, effective December 1.
Pichette most recently served as the CFO at Alphabet's Google, a post he held from August 2008 to May 2015.
"Patrick helped guide Google during a period of tremendous growth and innovation, and his industry insight and financial acumen are second to none. Patrick will bring a unique perspective to Twitter, and we're confident that everyone at the company will benefit from his involvement on the board," said Omid Kordestani, Executive Chairman of Twitter.
Pichette will replace Hugh Johnson, a Twitter board member, who resigned from his seat to accept a new director role on the board at Microsoft (MSFT) - Get Report .
"I've long admired Twitter's purpose and the impact it's had on the world, and I look forward to working closely with Omid, Jack and the rest of the Twitter board," Pichette said.
Shares of Twitter were rising in pre-market trading on Wednesday.
