This State Added the Most Clean Energy Jobs in 2014, and It's Not California
NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Which state added the most jobs in clean energy last year?
Across the country, nearly 47,000 jobs in clean energy and clean transportation were announced across more than 170 projects in 2014, according to a report by Environmental Entrepreneurs, a national nonpartisan business group that promotes environmental policy that drives economic growth.
That number is actually down from 2013 in which 78,000 clean energy and transportation jobs were added, primarily related to "ongoing uncertainty over public policy both at the federal and state levels, couple with the expiration of beneficial tax policies," the group said.
The solar industry led all clean energy sectors in new job creation fueled by declining materials prices as well as favorable public policies with more than 20,000 jobs announced in the industry. Advanced vehicle industry also had a strong year, the report found.
Check out which states created the most jobs in clean energy and clean transportation last year.
