Goldman CEO's Bonus: $9M, No Cash
NEW YORK (

Goldman Sachs
(GS) - Get Report
Chairman and CEO Lloyd Blankfein was awarded a bonus of $9 million worth of stock and no cash for 2009, according to a
Securities and Exchange Commission
filing late Friday.
The number was clearly intended to demonstrate a degree of restraint, as Goldman has been under fire for paying executives handsomely while U.S. unemployment is near 10%.
Goldman's earnings of $22.13 per share were just shy of the $24.73 it earned in 2007, when Blankfein was paid $67 million. In 2008, when Goldman earned $4.47 per share, Blankfein earned no bonus.
