Foot Locker's Epic Stock Crash Explains It All on This New Mall Death Investment
Foot Locker's (FL) - Get Reportepic stock crash on Friday and poor second quarter results from Macy's (M) - Get Report and J.C. Penney (JCP) - Get Report will probably only fuel excitement for the new 'Death of Mall' ETF.
Proshares recently filed the Long Online Short Bricks & Mortar Retail ETF with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The ETF mixes Amazon (AMZN) - Get Report long exposure with SPDR S&P Retail ETF (XRT) - Get Report shorts. The SEC filing didn't reveal a listing exchange, expense ratio, or ticker.
If it had been in existence the last two years, it would have paid off in the form of a nearly 105% bump.
Amazon is up 85% over the past two years and the XRT is down 20% over the same period.
