Fiat Chrysler June Sales Rise 2%, Led by Ram Pickups

Shares of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCAU) - Get Report slipped Tuesday after the automaker reported its best June U.S. sales in 14 years, led by Ram pickups.
Fiat Chrysler sold more than 206,000 vehicles in the month, up 2% from the year-earlier month.
Sales of Ram pickups rose 56% to more than 68,000. The Ram brand overall sold 45% more vehicles in June 2019 than it did in June 2018.
Other Fiat Chrysler nameplates posted sales declines: Chrysler was off 4%, Dodge was down 17%, Jeep declined 12%, Fiat was 35% lower and Alfa Romeo was off 29%.
Within Jeep, the Grand Cherokee brand sold almost 20,000 vehicles, up 11%.
Of the total vehicles sold, more than 156,000, or three-quarters, were sold at retail with the rest to fleets. The retail count was the company's best June in 18 years.
Fiat Chrysler said it will begin reporting sales quarterly instead of monthly. The first such report, for July through September, is set for Oct. 1.
Fiat Chrysler shares were trading at $13.85, down 0.4%.
