This Is How Facebook's Sheryl Sandberg Imagines Working With Very Old Car Makers
Social networking powerhouse Facebook Inc. (FB) - Get Report is looking to add some new friends from an unlikely arena: the German auto industry.
Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg attended the opening ceremony of the IAA car show in Frankfurt on Thursday, Sept. 14, and told the audience her company wants to build more cooperation with the German car industry by sponsoring events and training, Bloomberg reported.
As a young company that's only been publicly traded for a little over five years, Facebook has "a lot to learn" from the German automakers who have been doing business for more than 100 years, Sandberg added.
Sandberg said there are ample opportunities for cooperation specifically in the fields of artificial intelligence, digitization and industry.
