EBay (EBAY) - Get Report is challenging e-commerce rival Amazon,  (AMZN) - Get Report  saying it intends to launch Managed Delivery, a fulfillment service that will debut in 2020.

Managed Delivery will give sellers with high-volume inventory access to storage, packaging and shipping services through the logistics partners that eBay manages.

EBay says the service will enable sellers to offer free shipping with more reliable and faster delivery.

"A common request we hear from our high-velocity sellers is to help make delivery of high-volume items easy and fast," said Devin Wenig, chief executive of the San Jose, Calif., retail and auction company, in a statement.

"The implementation of this service will dramatically lessen the shipping burden on sellers, while improving the shopping experience and making unboxing fun for buyers."

Amazon offers Fulfillment by Amazon, which the Seattle retail giant says allows sellers to "scale your business and reach more customers."

EBay shares were little changed at $41.02 Wednesday afternoon.
