Ice cream maker Baskin-Robbins (DNKN) - Get Report is dipping its toe into the plant-based craze after announcing that it will debut two vegan options.

The company, owned by Dunkin' Brands, will launch its non-dairy Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and non-dairy Chocolate Extreme flavors will be available in the company's stores beginning Aug. 1.

"The Baskin-Robbins culinary team has been hard at work on our non-dairy flavors for over two years. It was important for us to take the time to get it right," said Jeanne Bolger, director of research and development, Baskin-Robbins. "Both flavors are so smooth and indulgent, and the final product delivers the incredible quality that our customers have come to expect from any Baskin-Robbins ice cream. We're very proud of the result."

The company did note that all of Baskin-Robbins' products are prepared in the same area, and therefore the company can't guarantee that there will not be any cross-contact between products or ingredients.
