Sexy Cells From the CTIA Wireless Show
LAS VEGAS -- Here are some gadgets found in Vegas that should not stay there -- sexy cell phones. The Helio Mysto has 3G technology, which allows your multimedia downloads to happen at lightening speed. Next there is the ZTE C79 music phone with an MP3 player. Gadget Grrl says it's great for the mobile executive who likes to take his or her multimedia to go.
Helio Mysto Samsung |
For the mobile executive who likes a slider cell phone with some multimedia options, the Helio Mysto might be worth considering.
Some of the specs: Sapphire Blue color; weighs 3.35 oz; 4.1" H x 1.9" W; a 2.22"display; and 3G.
That last spec is important, 3G means that your multimedia downloads will happenin a fraction of the time. For example, a one-minute video on this can load in about 15seconds.
Not all business travelers need its built-in MPEG-4 video camera but it could comein handy for manufacturing tours, presentations or tradeshows.
The fun factor on this cell phone is that when you raise up the top, there is a boing sound effect.
Something I didn't like about the Helio: the heat. Maybe that's where its hellish name came from, but it's a pain to use the keypad while charging because it becomes too hot to handle.
Like most devices, this one comes with 106 MB of internal memory, but it can beamped up to 4 GB with a microSD card.
Note: To use the 20MB music suite you'll have to download that from the Web site at:helio.com/support.
ZTE C79 |
A relatively new contender on the block is the Chinese company, ZTE and its ZTE C79 music phone. It might appeal to some mobile executives who have to have their multimedia on the go.
Specs on this one include a flip phone with MP3 player, 1.3 MP camera, stereo Bluetooth and 2" screen. It can also be upgraded with a microSD card.
What I did like on this phone was the actual call quality. It's not my idea ofa mega-multimedia device but if the price is right, it might work as a second device thatyou could afford to use and if you lost it, no big deal. For pricing and availability check the Web site.
