Florida Sheriff Threatens to Arrest Irma Evacuees With Outstanding Warrants

The sheriff's office took to Twitter to make sure those with outstanding warrants knew what they were in for.

The Polk County Sheriff's office doesn't want Floridians with warrants looking to escape Hurricane Irma to have any false illusions: you will be arrested if you go to any of the county's emergency shelters during the storm.

The Polk County Sheriff's office tweeted that there would be officers at every station looking for those with warrants. 

The responses to the tweet were as expected with many questioning the wisdom of discouraging people from seeking shelter from the storm.
