Chrysler announced they will be recalling 257,000 Ram pickup trucks after an investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that the rear axle can seize up or the drive shaft can fall off of the 2005 model of the Ram 1500 built between January 28, 2004 and August 3, 2005. The issue stems from the rear axle pinion nut, which can come loose and cause the truck to spin out of control. The agency found fifteen complaints regarding the model, seven of which reported the driver's wheel locking up at speeds over 50 miles per hour. No crashes or injuries have been reported to date. Whalen MacHale reports for TheStreet from New York.
