Williams-Sonoma posted second quarter earnings of $0.53 a share on revenue of $1.04 billion. Wall Street analysts were looking for $0.53 a share on sales of $1.05 billion. Last year, the cookware retailer earned $0.49 a share on $982 million in revenue. As for details, comparable brand revenue growth in Q2 increased 5.7% compared to growth of 8.4% in the same period last year. More specifically, Pottery Barn sales were up 4.4% in Q2, down from 9.9% growth last year, while the Williams-Sonoma brand was up 3.4% after falling 0.4% a year ago.
