Steve Ballmer said this week he is stepping down from Microsoft’s board of directors, because of a 'hectic' fall schedule. Not only will the former CEO be overseeing the LA Clippers, but he will also teach an MBA class on strategic management at Stanford this fall, followed by a class at USC’s Marshall School of Business in the spring. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift revealed Monday that her new album '1989' would come out October 27th. The announcement was streamed live by Yahoo and featured the video for her new song, 'Shake It Off'. Swift also answered questions coming through Instagram, Skype and Twitter. Finally, the Commerce Department reported Tuesday that U.S. home construction rose 15.7% in July to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.09 million homes, making it the fastest pace in eight months.
