In a quest to be crowned the king in home-entertainment, Amazon (AMZN) is staging an online pricing war with Disney (DIS). The world's largest online retailer is no longer allowing pre-orders of Disney's upcoming DVD and blu-ray releases like the hit movie 'Captain America' and 'Maleficent'. Amazon is still offering both movies on its online streaming service. This is an attempt by the online retailer to pressure vendors to lower prices. Amazon used a similar tactic with Warner Brothers (TWX) earlier this summer when it blocked hits like 'The Lego Movie' and 'Transcendence' for about a month. Both shares of Amazon and Disney higher in the session.
