Ulta Salon delivered double digit increases in sales and earnings. Clearly, women shoppers are willing to spend money on cosmetics. Ulta said on its conference call that prestige cosmetics, which are higher priced products, were leading sales. Ulta also said that on the salon side they were seeing increases in average tickets as well as an increase in guests. Apparently it costs a lot to look like you're not wearing makeup with the Naked line from Urban Decay leading the way. Ulta also noted that its online sales were up over 70% and now accounting for over eight percent of sales.
