Fox News Network and TheStreet.com Settle Lawsuit
Fox News Network, L.L.C. and TheStreet.com, Inc. announced today that they had settled the lawsuit Fox News commenced against TheStreet.com concerning TheStreet.com television program that ran on the Fox News Channel.
As part of the monetary portion of the settlement, Fox News has agreed to allow TheStreet.com to direct $10,000 to the Eric Breindel Foundation in the name of Fox News where the resources will be directed to a positive cause. As part of the settlement, TheStreet.com has agreed that prior to May 1, 2001, it will not produce a television program similar to the program that ran on the Fox News Channel.
Jordan Goldstein, Vice President and General Counsel of TheStreet.com, stated, "We are satisfied with the settlement, which validates Fox News' legitimate interests in enforcing its contractual rights concerning the cancellation of the television program. We are pleased that we can now get back to business."
Dianne Brandi, Vice President Legal Affairs for Fox News, stated, "We are pleased that the settlement has worked out to our satisfaction."
