Wall Street Veteran Odette Galli Joins TheStreet.com
NEW YORK, September 6, 2001 - TheStreet.com Inc., a leading multimedia provider of financial commentary, analysis and news, announced today that Odette Galli has joined the Company as a RealMoney.com columnist. Galli has been working on Wall Street for more than seventeen years for leading financial institutions including J&W Seligman and Morgan Stanley. Most recently, she served as a writer for SmartMoney magazine. Her appointment comes in the heels of the hiring of Ben Stein, former columnist of The Wall Street Journal and Barron's, as an outside contributor.
"Odette is an invaluable addition to our editorial team," said David Morrow, Editor-in-Chief of TheStreet.com. "After over seventeen years working on Wall Street at prestigious financial firms, her deep track record makes Odette a strong addition to our current lineup of financial commentators. This hire reinforces our effort to make RealMoney.com a site where readers can access highly opinionated financial commentary at a premium from professionals such as Odette."
Galli will provide general market commentary and analysis, appearing primarily on RealMoney.com, the Company's premium, subscription-based site, several times a week.
Galli started her Wall Street career in 1983 at L.F. Rothschild, Unterberg & Towbin in the equity research department. Most recently, she was a writer at SmartMoney Magazine, where she covered the general market. Prior to that, she worked as a Senior Manager at Ark Asset Management where she co-managed $3 billion in institutional assets. In addition, Galli was Senior Vice President at J & W Seligman. She has also worked in equity research at Morgan Stanley & Co.
