On Tap Today: Expiring Lockups, Quiet Periods in Spotlight
Expect talk about tech as the quiet period expires on three communications companies.
Sonus Networks (SONS Quote), a provider of voice infrastructure products, and Stanford Microdevices (SMDI Quote), which sells radio components used primarily in the wireless industry, will come off their quiet periods today.
Broadband technology firm Centillium Communications (CTLM Quote) and Universal Compression Holdings (UCO Quote), offering natural gas compression services, reached the end of their quiet periods on Sunday. The two companies made their trading debuts on the same day last month, and both closed above their initial public offering prices. Centillium shares finished up 3 7/8 at 22 7/8, while Universal Compression shares edged 1/16 above their $22 offering price.
Also during the weekend, lockups on Maxygen (MAXY Quote)and Tibco Software (TIBX Quote) expired. Goldman Sachs, one of three brokerage firms reporting this week, is the lead underwriter for both.
