Off-Hours Trading: Futures Pointing to Continued Bounce for Stocks
Yesterday's positive momentum looks ready to carry through into early trading today, with the futures and European action pointing higher.
The
Major indices in Europe were up solidly, with the French CAC 40 leading on the upside with a gain of 1.5%. The U.K.'s FTSE 100 was up 1%, while Germany's Xetra Dax was up 0.7%. Stocks trended higher in overnight Asian trading as well (see today's Asian Markets Update for more).
In corporate news, America Online (AOL Quote) was up 1 5/16 to 61 15/16 on Instinet on a Wall Street Journal report that AOL and pending acquisition Time Warner (TWX Quote) will pledge to open their cable system to other Internet service providers. Time Warner hadn't traded. ...
