Asian Markets Update: Most Markets End Lower, Seoul Edges Higher
TOKYO -- Most Asian stock markets ended lower Friday, as the U.S. presidential election and the pressure it exerted on Wall Street continued to cast a shadow over the region's equities.
In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 closed down 71.5 points, or 0.5%, at 14,988.5 and the Topix index, which includes all shares listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, fell 10.4, or 0.7%, to 1417.0.
Most Japanese technology and telecom shares remained limp, as Sony(SNE Quote) fell 210 yen, or 2.3%, to 8,850 ($82.37); NTT DoCoMo (NTDMY Quote) tanked 90,000 yen, or 3% to close at 2.9 million; and Fujitsu (FJTSY Quote) dropped 35 yen, or 1.7%, to 2,015. ...
