NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Freddie Mac (FRE Quote) was among the losers of the financial sector Monday after the government-sponsored entity posted a third-quarter loss, saying it will need more federal funding.
Freddie Mac late Friday said it had a net loss of $6.3 billion, or $1.94 a share, after a dividend payment of $1.3 billion to the Treasury Department on its senior preferred stock holdings. The company's provision for credit losses jumped to $7.6 billion from $5.2 billion in the previous quarter. ...
