Financial stocks ended the day mixed, despite falling for most of the day.
Market participants were working off a host of economic data including a report from the Commerce Department saying that consumers were saving more of their disposable income as concerns about the economy persisted.
Also despite the much-talked perceptions of "green shoots" in the economy boosting the markets during the second quarter, some observers warned that earnings estimates may be too high. The second quarter ends on Tuesday. ...
