Regal Entertainment Chairman Gives Up CEO Title

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Founder Mike Campbell is giving up his role as chief executive officer of Regal Entertainment Group but will continue as executive chairman of the country's largest movie theater company.
Knoxville-based Regal announced a succession plan Wednesday under which Chief Financial Officer Amy Miles will become CEO and Senior Vice President of Finance David Ownby will become CFO on June 30.
Campbell, 55, is a former grocer who built and sold a small movie theater chain before forming Regal Cinemas in 1989. The company already was the nation's largest movie exhibitor when it filed for bankruptcy protection in 2001 in a corporate restructuring that shifted ownership to a group led by Denver billionaire Philip Anschutz. ...
