Former Merrill Lynch COO and president Greg Fleming is leaving the firm a few days after Bank of America's (BAC Quote) acquisition of the brokerage became official, according to a source who has seen an internal memo.
Fleming's departure is the second departure of a high-level Merrill executive this week. Former Merrill brokerage chief Robert McCann resigned from his post on Monday, a surprise blow to the business unit that was central to BofA's chief Ken Lewis's reason for the acquisition.
Fleming did not respond immediately to a call or an email message. CNBC reported Yale University, where he earned his law degree, confirmed he was joining its faculty. ...
