Mukasey in Hospital After Collapse

WASHINGTON -- The White House says President Bush called Michael Mukasey at the hospital Friday after the attorney general collapsed Thursday evening during a speech in Washington. The Justice Department said on Thursday that Mukasey was "conscious, conversant and alert" after collapsing.
Spokesman Peter Carr said in a statement that the attorney general's vital statistics were strong and he was in good spirits. The nation's top law enforcement official spent the night in George Washington University Hospital for observation.
Mukasey, the no-nonsense former federal judge who took over the Justice Department after Alberto Gonzales resigned in disgrace, collapsed during a speech Thursday evening and lost consciousness. ...
