Newly Rated ETFs Show Few Places to Hide

These 15 newly rated ETFs by TSC Ratings have made their debut by slamming headlong into a serious correction.

The one-month and three-month returns reflect the problems out there -- and the key takeaway is that the once-high-returning Non-U.S. Equity category (ETFs invested in foreign markets) is experiencing negative returns in line with the U.S. market. This clearly shows that the U.S. correction is a global phenomenon and lays to rest the notion that other economies would not be adversely affected by the problems here.

The stellar performance of the foreign markets that, according to our data, started all the way back in 2002-03 and continued to the early part of this year, led many investment companies to roll out more product focused on overseas markets. But, as in the case of the housing market, these foreign ETFs reached their maximum supply at a point when their markets were on the precipice of a decline.
