SAN FRANCISCO -- Google(GOOG Quote) remains strangely silent as it watches Microsoft(MSFT Quote) vie for control over Yahoo!(YHOO Quote).

Some believe that the Internet titan is keeping its mouth shut for one reason alone: DoubleClick.
