Stocks in New York overcame an early data-inspired selloff and rose Wednesday amid a rally in financials and buying in computer-related shares.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 90 points to 12,427, and the S&P 500 added 11 points to 1,360. The Nasdaq Composite rose 21 points to 2,327.
