Earnings regenerated a few health stocks on Tuesday, while others were anemic on various news.
Regeneration Technologies(RTIX Quote) rose Tuesday after announcing earnings. Revenue was $22.9 million, compared with $18.3 million for the year-ago period. The company reported net income of $195,000, or 1 cent a share, compared with a loss of $1.6 million or 5 cents a share in the 2006 quarter. Earnings were in line with the expectations of analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial. Regeneration Technologies gained 85 cents, or 8.6%, to $10.72.
Similarly, Auxilium Pharmaceuticals(AUXL Quote) rose after reporting earnings. The company reported revenue of $23.3 million, vs. $16.5 million in the 2006 quarter. Auxilium lost $10 million, or 27 cents a share, in the quarter, compared with $11.7 million, or 40 cents a share, a year ago.
