Conn's(CONN Quote) was among the Nasdaq's winners Thursday, as shares rose 4.1% after the retailer posted better-than-expected first-quarter results.
The company earned $12.9 million, or 54 cents a share, on revenue of $205.3 million. Analysts polled by Thomson Financial expected earnings of 48 cents a share on revenue of $204.9 million. During the year-earlier period, the company earned $11.9 million, or 49 cents a share, on revenue of $192.2 million.
For the full year, Conn's continues to see earnings of $1.75 to $1.85 a share. Analysts project earnings of $1.84 a share. Shares closed up $1.19 to $30.35. ...
